While it is too early to know exactly what measures will be announced, the Budget is expected to provide important details for businesses, employers and individuals planning for the months ahead. With the new government still in the early stages of its term, many organisations will be looking for greater certainty around taxation, business investment and the wider economic outlook.
David Maslen, Partner and Head of Tax at Old Mill, said: “The first Budget of any new Prime Minister’s government is significant because it provides the clearest indication yet of its priorities and the direction of travel for tax and economic policy. While there is naturally a great deal of speculation at this stage, businesses should avoid making decisions based on rumours and instead focus on being prepared for whatever is announced. Once we have the detail, we can assess what it means in practice and help clients respond with confidence.”
As always, Old Mill’s tax specialists will be monitoring the Chancellor’s statement closely. We’ll be analysing the announcements as they happen and providing practical guidance on what the changes mean for you, your business and your future plans.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll also be sharing details of our Budget communications programme, including our usual timetable of summary updates, expert analysis and events designed to help you understand the key measures and any action you may need to take.
In the meantime, if you’re already considering business or personal tax planning ahead of the Budget, please speak to your usual Old Mill adviser. Planning based on your long-term objectives remains the best approach while we await the Chancellor’s announcements.
