How the February 2026 Companies House fee increase will affect your business

Companies House is upping its prices once again, for the second time in the past two years. From 1 February 2026, fees for new companies will double from the current figure, and confirmation statement costs will also rise significantly.

These price hikes will result in a substantial increase in annual revenue, but this will inevitably come at a cost to all business owners.

Price rises

The UK Government website confirms that the following price rises will take effect from February next year:

  • The incorporation digital filing fee will double from £50 to £100 – a total jump of £90 in the past two years.
  • Fees for digitally filing a confirmation statement will increase to £50 from the current £34 fee, which rose from just £13 in 2024.
  • The voluntary strike off digital filing fee will change to £13.

For larger businesses, these extra outgoings may not pose much of an issue, but for small business owners or those with multiple companies, the costs will inevitably cause frustration.

How will the Companies House fee rises impact small businesses?

Although these price hikes are unlikely to leave you out of pocket, many small business owners will be feeling exasperated at yet another additional cost to bear in an already difficult financial climate.

  • The increased annual confirmation fee will set existing businesses back an extra £16 per year.
  • Those setting up new companies will be charged £100 as opposed to the £10 fee which was set from 2016 to 2024.
