Old Mill Chippenham to sponsor vintage Wiltshire ploughing match

Old Mill is proud to support farmers taking part in an upcoming ploughing match.

The White Horse Vintage Ploughing Association’s annual ploughing match will take place on Sunday, 22 March 2026. Rural accountants and financial advisers from Old Mill’s Chippenham Office will once again sponsor the annual event enjoyed by local farmers.

Who can enter the White Horse Vintage Ploughing Match?


The event is open to vintage ploughing enthusiasts in Wiltshire, taking place on land off the B3098 between Bratton and Westbury. Entries cost £15 and must be made by Sunday, 15 March via the form on the event website. 

This year’s match features the following classes: 

  1. Trailed Plough (Pre1959): Vintage trailed ploughs built before 1959 
  2. Mounted Plough (Pre1959): Classic mounted ploughs manufactured before 1959 
  3. Classic Plough (Pre1976): Classic tractors and ploughs made before 1976 
  4. Ferguson Class: Ferguson tractor and Ferguson plough combinations only 
  5. Classic Reversible (Pre1976, Max 2 Furrows): Reversible ploughs built pre1976 with up to two furrows 
  6. Conventional 3F+: Conventional ploughs with three or more furrows 
  7. Novice Class: Open to beginners using any plough, any number of furrows 
  8. Horticultural Class: For horticultural tractors and small-scale ploughing equipment
