Alison Smith is Head of Digital Business Services and Executive Director of Brook Financial, an Old Mill Group company, based in Ilminster. She leads a team delivering outsourced bookkeeping, management accounts, payroll and digital transformation services, while providing strategic leadership for the business. Alison helps organisations streamline financial processes, embrace technology and gain the insights needed to make confident business decisions.

Alison’s expertise includes digital transformation, cloud accounting, finance process improvement, automation and outsourced finance functions. She works with growing owner-managed businesses and established organisations looking to modernise their finance operations and improve efficiency. Having co-founded, grown and successfully sold her own business in 2022, she brings first-hand experience of the opportunities and challenges involved in building and scaling a successful business. In recognition of her leadership, innovation and contribution to the profession, Alison was named in the Top 50 Women in Accounting 2026, celebrating her role in driving positive change within the accounting industry and supporting businesses through digital transformation.
