Chief Financial Officer

Ian Carlson is Chief Finance Officer at Old Mill, based in Yeovil, and a member of the firm’s Board, Executive Management Committee and Operations Executive. He leads Old Mill’s finance function, providing strategic and financial leadership across the business and working closely with the CEO, Board and external stakeholders, including the Kinbrook Group Board. His responsibilities also include private equity reporting, acquisitions, system implementation, and other key strategic projects that support the firm’s growth and development.

Ian brings extensive expertise in financial leadership, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling. He combines strong commercial insight with a practical approach to opportunity and risk analysis, helping to drive informed decision-making across the business. He played a key role in securing private equity investment for Old Mill in 2025 and, as Managing Director, successfully led the firm through the COVID-19 pandemic, including the implementation of hybrid working. As Old Mill’s first non-fee-earning Partner and Shareholder, Ian has built a strong track record of leadership, business transformation and talent development, drawing on experience gained through senior roles within a number of blue-chip organisations.
