Katie Smith is Chief People Officer at Old Mill, based in Yeovil, and a member of both the Old Mill Executive and Board. She leads the firm’s people strategy, helping to create an environment where people can thrive and do their best work. Her focus spans leadership development, talent attraction and retention, learning and development, employee engagement, reward, wellbeing and organisational culture. Working closely with leaders across the business, Katie supports Old Mill’s growth, develops future talent and helps build the people, capability and culture needed to achieve the firm’s ambitions.
Katie brings extensive experience in people strategy, organisational development, learning and development, talent management and business transformation. She has supported organisations through significant periods of growth, change and transformation, developing effective people frameworks and helping businesses build the leadership and organisational capability needed for the future.
Her experience includes leading complex organisational restructuring programmes, managing the people aspects of acquisitions for a major UK insurance business, implementing HR technology solutions, designing and delivering management and professional development programmes, and supporting significant business relocations. She also has expertise in employment law, employee relations and people governance.
