Operations Director

Matthew Clark is Operations Director and a Chartered Financial Planner at Old Mill, based in Wells. He is responsible for leading operational strategy and change across the Wealth Management team, with a focus on enhancing client service and driving continuous improvement. Matthew also leads the Financial Planning support team and oversees the specialist Pensions and Trusts & Estates teams. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, he advises a select portfolio of private clients. He is a member of Old Mill’s Financial Planning Board and the Operations Executive Committee and regularly attends the Executive Management Committee.

With 15 years’ experience in financial services, Matthew combines his expertise as a Chartered Financial Planner with a strong track record in operations and change management. He specialises in balancing the needs of clients, colleagues, and the wider business to deliver exceptional outcomes. During his career, he has led a number of significant transformation projects, including the restructuring of the Financial Planning operations team, the implementation of new CRM and back-office systems, and the successful transfer of more than £500 million of client assets.
