Working collaboratively to create financial freedom for Adrian and Diana Gamble

We initially developed a strong working relationship with Adrian as accountants for his business, Atlas Packaging.  Together with Atlas Packaging, Adrian and his wife, Diana have also built up an investment company with its own pension fund and property portfolio which forms a considerable part of their asset wealth base.

In 2006 when Adrian started to think about offering a Management Buy-Out as part of planning his longer-term exit strategy from the business, Mark Neath introduced him to Paula Hodge, who, at that time, headed up our Wealth Management team and the relationship with Old Mill continued to flourish.

We are passionate about our client relationships and working with people who were inspired and excited by. Spending time with Adrian and Diana they created a robust financial plan which has helped them achieve their financial freedom.  This took into consideration their business interest in Atlas Packaging, the investment company and the pension fund property portfolio managed by Diana.

We have been working with the couple ever since as their personal financial planner and, as their accountant, continue to provide regular input at Atlas Packaging’s board meetings. Diana has worked closely with our teams in Exeter, and our Pensions Team in Yeovil, and, over time, we have taken on more responsibility for managing both the investment company and the pension fund property portfolio to allow her time to pursue her personal interests.

We use detailed cashflow modelling to demonstrate the different financial options available to Adrian and Diana. This allowed the couple to make informed financial decisions, that were then built into an effective, tax-efficient, financial plan that sits at the core of the ongoing service and advice that we provide.

We meet with Adrian and Diana regularly to discuss any aspects of their financial situation and to review and update their plan and make any changes as needed. The clarity the couple get from their meetings gives them real peace of mind about their finances.

Diana loves gardening and the couple recently wanted to build a new greenhouse at their home. We were able to suggest the best way to fund the building work, fulfilling her passion without impacting their longer-term financial plan.

And for Adrian, since first meeting with Old Mill, he has now transitioned from being a full-time Director to providing ongoing consultancy to Atlas Packaging on a part-time basis; allowing more free time to pursue his hobbies and enjoy time with Diana.
